Chef Eero Vottonen along with his team aims to create an innovative yet sophisticated Nordic dining experience at Palace. Seasonal Finnish ingredients are central to the menu and reflect the chef’s passion for taste and superb ingredients.
“The way I was raised and trained and the food I have eaten is reflected in everything I do”.
“We have a fairly new food culture in Finland since we are still quite a new nation, but we have a long history of traditional methods of preparing food. We smoke, salt and cure as well as cook on open fires. We also have some of the best products in the world, such as mushrooms, berries and game. My style of cooking reflects all of these things.”
Palace, a pioneer of Finnish gastronomy
Established in 1952, Palace has always been a pioneer of Finnish gastronomy. With views over the city and its seascape, the restaurant is located on the 10th floor of a historically significant building that was originally constructed to mark the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. Today, the Palace kitchen is headed by Chef Eero Vottonen who, together with his team, aims to create an innovative yet sophisticated Nordic dining experience.
