Herrmann, born in 1971 in Kulmbach, grew up in a family-run hotel and trained in leading kitchens across Germany and Europe before taking over the historic Posthotel Alexander Herrmann in Wirsberg in 1996. In addition to his work as a chef and restaurateur, he is a well-known television personality, author, and culinary educator.

Tobias Bätz, born in 1983 in Kronach, trained in Germany and abroad before joining Herrmann’s team in Wirsberg in 2009. Over the years, he became executive chef and a creative driving force behind their shared culinary vision. Together, they developed a highly distinctive approach centered on local producers, seasonal ingredients, and modern techniques, helping to elevate regional Bavarian cuisine to international prominence.

Their collaboration has earned widespread critical acclaim and numerous industry honors, positioning their restaurant as a benchmark for progressive, regionally rooted dining.
