Clare Smyth is one of Britain’s most acclaimed chefs and the chef-owner of Core by Clare Smyth in Notting Hill, London, a restaurant widely recognised for its exceptional standards and international acclaim. Originally from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, Clare developed her passion for food and nature growing up on her family’s farm.
She trained in some of the world’s most respected kitchens, including Alain Ducasse’s Le Louis XV in Monaco, and spent 13 years working alongside Gordon Ramsay. She later became Chef Patron of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay before opening Core, where her cooking reflects precision, elegance and a deep respect for British ingredients and seasonality.
Highly respected within the global culinary community, Clare is committed to mentoring future generations of chefs. She serves as President of the Bocuse d’Or UK team, is a judge for international young chef competitions, and actively supports charitable initiatives.Her career has also included cooking for prestigious private events and appearing on major television programmes such as MasterChef, The Final Table and Top Chef, further cementing her influence on the international food scene.
