Bio

At 36, Fanny Rey is a celebrated French chef recognised for her outstanding achievements in contemporary gastronomy. In 2017, she received one of the industry’s highest distinctions and was named Woman Chef of the Year, becoming one of the very few women in France to earn such recognition at that level. Born in Burgundy, Fanny discovered her passion for cooking early in life. At just 15, she left home to train at a hotel school in the Jura, beginning

a journey that would take her through some of France’s most respected kitchens, including Les Fermes de Marie in Megève and La Bastide de Marie in Ménerbes. After a period of military service with the National Navy, she returned to gastronomy, refining her craft at The Ritz in Paris and L’Oustau de Baumanière in Provence. Her career has been marked by

further accolades, including victories at the international competition Les Étoiles de Mougins and at Dalmeran. In 2012, she opened L’Auberge de Saint-Rémy in Provence, where she presents her signature light, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, celebrating seafood, shellfish and wild herbs with elegance and precision.
