James Goodyear is the Executive Head Chef at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, recognised for his refined technique, creative vision and strong leadership in contemporary fine dining. He began his career at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, where he spent five years developing a rigorous technical foundation and a deep respect for ingredients and precision.
His international experience includes formative periods at leading restaurants across Europe and beyond, such as Mugaritz in Spain and Maaemo in Norway, where he played a key role during a period of major critical recognition. He also trained in acclaimed kitchens including Per Se and Amass, further broadening his culinary perspective and approach.
Returning to the UK, Goodyear took on senior roles within Welbourne Restaurants, overseeing the successful launch of multiple venues in the UK and Spain. He later became Head Chef and Partner at Evelyn’s Table, where his work earned significant national acclaim and multiple industry awards, alongside inclusion in the National Restaurant Awards’ Top 100.
Throughout his career, Goodyear has received several prestigious honours, including the Craft Guild of Chefs Graduate Award and the William Heptinstall Award, recognising both his technical excellence and his contribution to modern gastronomy.
