James Knappett is the chef patron and co-founder of Kitchen Table in London. Originally from Soham, Cambridgeshire, James developed an early passion for cooking and pursued formal training at a local catering college. He moved to London, where he gained experience at prestigious restaurants such as Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, The Berkeley, and The Ledbury.
James later relocated to Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, before venturing to New York in 2005 to work at Thomas Keller’s renowned Per Se. He continued his culinary journey at Noma in Copenhagen, widely regarded as one of the world’s top restaurants, before returning to London.
In 2012, James and his wife Sandia Chang opened Kitchen Table in Fitzrovia, an intimate dining experience focused on exceptional food. Kitchen Table quickly gained a reputation for innovation and quality, with James continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary dining through his unique approach to cuisine.
