Jeroen Achtien, born on October 7, 1987, developed a passion for cooking at a young age, inspired by his older brother’s stories from the kitchen. He began his culinary education in Leeuwarden and gained experience in restaurants with various styles. He then spent eight years at De Librije under Jonnie de Boer, where he also met his wife, Sanne.
In 2018, Jeroen and Sanne moved to Switzerland to take over the kitchen at restaurant Sens in Vitznauerhof. Initially hesitant to accept the role, he changed his mind after seeing the stunning location. His cuisine focuses on achieving harmony, with fermentation playing a key role in creating bold and innovative flavor combinations.
Jeroen is dedicated to crafting an immersive dining experience, where every moment—from the warm welcome in the lounge to a dinner overlooking the garden—is a journey through taste and sensation. Together with Sanne, he ensures that each guest enjoys a culinary adventure filled with depth, creativity, and unexpected delights.
