Paolo Casagrande, born in Italy, developed a passion for cooking early on and studied at the Alfredo Beltrame Hospitality School in Veneto. He began his culinary journey in Italy, refining his techniques and exploring creativity in various restaurants. His skills were further honed in fine dining establishments in Milan, London, and Paris, working with esteemed chefs like Alain Solivérès at Les Elysées du Vernet and Taillevent.
In 2003, Solivérès introduced Casagrande to Martín Berasategui, marking the start of a long and fruitful collaboration. Initially joining the Martín Berasategui Restaurant in Lasarte-Oria, his dedication and precision quickly earned him Berasategui’s trust. In 2005, Casagrande was entrusted with leading the M.B. Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Abama in Tenerife, showcasing his ability to elevate culinary experiences.
After a brief hiatus, he returned to Berasategui’s team in 2012 to head Lasarte Restaurant in Barcelona, where his leadership and vision solidified its reputation. Most recently, he has taken on the role of gastronomic director at Orobianco Restaurant in Calpe, Spain. Casagrande’s career reflects his commitment, discipline, and enduring passion for the culinary arts.
