Pedro Lemos is a leading Portuguese chef from Porto, known for a cuisine that honours tradition while embracing thoughtful evolution. Raised in a family where cooking was central to daily life, his earliest influences came from his grandmothers’ kitchens, where respect for ingredients and flavour precision were paramount. Although he initially trained as a civil engineer, Lemos chose to follow his culinary calling, refining his discipline through classical training and professional experience in Portugal and abroad.
His career gained momentum with roles that deepened his understanding of technique, terroir and service, notably in the Douro Valley, where landscape and produce shaped his approach to flavour. In 2009, he returned to Porto to open his eponymous restaurant, quickly earning recognition for cooking defined by intensity, balance and emotional resonance.
Lemos’s work has been widely celebrated with national and international honours, including multiple chef and restaurant awards and inclusion in prestigious global culinary selections. In 2024, he entered a new chapter by relocating his flagship restaurant, reaffirming his belief that change is essential to remaining true to one’s identity.
