Bio

Rasmus Kofoed, born in 1974 in Birkerød, Denmark, is one of the leading figures in contemporary Nordic cuisine. Raised in Vordingborg, he developed a close connection to nature from an early age, often foraging with his family, which deeply influenced his philosophy of cooking. Kofoed is the only chef in history to have achieved bronze, silver, and gold at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or culinary competition, marking him as one of the world’s most accomplished competitors.

After his victories, he returned to coach future participants, further cementing his reputation as both a pioneer and mentor in the global culinary scene. Together with Søren Ledet, he co-founded Geranium in Copenhagen, where he serves as head chef. His cuisine reflects a balance of precision, seasonality, and creativity, with dishes that are deeply rooted in Nordic landscapes and traditions.

Geranium has consistently been recognised as one of the top restaurants worldwide, and Kofoed himself has been celebrated among the finest chefs in international rankings, including The Best Chef Awards. Today, Kofoed continues to push boundaries, inspiring new generations while redefining modern Scandinavian gastronomy.
