Silvio Germann, born in Lucerne, Switzerland, is one of the youngest chefs to reach the top of the Swiss culinary scene. After exploring apprenticeships as a bicycle mechanic, landscaper, and roofer, he discovered his true passion in the kitchen. Early in his career, Germann trained under top European chefs and gained international experience, including in São Paulo, Brazil, before joining Andreas Caminada at Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau.
In 2015, at just 30, Germann was entrusted with leading IGNIV by Andreas Caminada at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, where he developed his signature style, blending creativity with the sharing-concept approach. Under his leadership, the restaurant earned major accolades and established him as a rising star in Swiss gastronomy.
In 2022, Germann and Caminada took over the Mammertsberg in Freidorf, Thurgau, where he continues to surprise guests with inventive dishes, guiding a young and innovative team alongside sommelier Giuseppe Da Vasco and hostess Carolin Gierling. Recognized for his visionary cuisine and leadership, Germann combines technical precision with a passion for taste, while balancing his demanding career with a love for golf and football.
