Sven Wassmer is a renowned Swiss chef celebrated for his innovative approach to Modern Alpine Cuisine. His signature restaurant, “Sven Wassmer Memories,” located at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, focuses on creating unique dining experiences by combining seasonal, locally sourced Alpine ingredients with advanced culinary techniques like fermenting and drying.
Wassmer’s dishes are known for their ability to blend nostalgia with a futuristic twist, offering creations like mountain char with caramelized dairy cream and wood sorrel sorbet with candy pinecones. In addition to his flagship restaurant, Wassmer also runs “verve by Sven,” which provides a more relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience with a focus on modern Alpine cuisine.
Wassmer’s culinary journey includes training at renowned establishments such as Viajante in London and Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau, and he earned his first recognition at Silver restaurant in 2014. In 2022, he published his first book, “My Alpine Cuisine.” A passionate family man, Wassmer enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda Wassmer-Bulgin, a Master of Wine candidate, and their two sons.
