Hailing from Nottingham, Tom Sellers is one of the most influential voices in modern British cuisine. He opened his first restaurant, Restaurant Story, at the age of 26, where his bold, personal approach quickly attracted widespread critical acclaim and numerous prestigious accolades. The intimate Bermondsey restaurant is celebrated for Tom’s signature creations, including the iconic Bread and dripping — an edible candle made from beef dripping — and for his ability to challenge convention while pushing fine dining forward.
Tom honed his craft at a young age, working alongside some of the world’s most respected chefs in London, New York and Copenhagen. These formative experiences shaped his distinctive style, rooted in technique, storytelling and innovation.
In March 2023, Tom expanded his vision with the launch of Story Cellar in Neal’s Yard, Seven Dials. Inspired by Parisian rotisserie restaurants, it focuses on expertly cooked chicken, house-cured charcuterie and reimagined classics. Story Cellar delivers the spirit of Restaurant Story in a more relaxed, fast-paced setting, offering exceptional food and wines with the same creative energy and character.
