Dutch-born chef Christiaan Stoop built his career across global fine dining kitchens, blending classical technique with modern creativity, and now leads Taian Table Shanghai as Executive Chef.
Christiaan Stoop, born to Dutch parents in Germany, began his culinary journey nine years ago under the mentorship of Chef Bobby Bräuer in Munich. From the outset, he developed a strong technical foundation and a deep appreciation for precision and creativity in the kitchen. His career then took him across some of the world’s most respected culinary destinations, including leading restaurants in Munich, Bray, Barcelona, Delhi, Dubai and Paris, where he gained extensive international experience and worked within highly demanding fine dining environments.
These years abroad shaped his distinctive culinary perspective, blending classical technique with modern sensibility and a global understanding of flavour. Along the way, he contributed to kitchens that received some of the industry’s highest accolades, further cementing his reputation as a chef of exceptional discipline and vision.
In June 2022, Christiaan joined Taian Table Shanghai, where he continued to refine his skills under the guidance of Chef Stefan Stiller. His talent and dedication quickly led to his appointment as Executive Chef, a role in which he now leads the kitchen, elevating the restaurant’s standing as one of China’s most acclaimed dining destinations.
