Christoph Rüffer is a renowned German chef and the Executive Chef of Restaurant Haerlin at the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, a position he has held since 2002. Over the years, he has shaped the restaurant into one of Germany’s most respected fine dining destinations, earning widespread national and international recognition for culinary excellence.

Born in Essen in 1973, Rüffer began his professional training in 1989 at the Sheraton Hotel in Essen. He went on to refine his craft in several acclaimed kitchens across Germany, developing a strong foundation in classical cuisine combined with precision and creativity. In 1999, while leading the kitchen at Fährhaus Munkmarsch on the island of Sylt, he achieved his first major professional distinctions.

Rüffer’s cooking is defined by elegance, balance and a deep respect for seasonal and regional ingredients, enhanced by refined technique and modern interpretation.
