Dave Pynt is the chef-owner of the Burnt Ends Hospitality Group, which oversees Burnt Ends and Meatsmith, two wood-fired restaurants known for their bold, modern approach to barbecue. Born in Perth, Western Australia, he trained in commercial cookery at the TAFE West Coast Institute of Training before travelling extensively, working alongside some of the most influential chefs of his generation across Europe and Australia. These experiences shaped his disciplined yet instinctive cooking style, centred on fire, flavour and precision.

Opened in 2013, Burnt Ends has become a defining fixture of Singapore’s dining landscape. Set in Dempsey Hill, the restaurant is built around an open kitchen featuring a custom wood-fired oven and grills, with menus that change daily and celebrate the expressive power of cooking with wood.

Pynt is widely respected for his collaborative spirit and has taken part in major international food festivals and events worldwide. His work has earned significant peer-recognised honours, international rankings and industry awards, reflecting both his influence and standing on the global culinary stage.
