Filip Gemzell gained experience in renowned restaurants worldwide before deciding to return to his native Sweden. He wanted to take on a significant role in a restaurant with high culinary ambitions. In 2019, together with his wife, Ann-Catrine, he opened ÄNG.
ÄNG’s cuisine is built around local ingredients from the Halland region. Most products come from the immediate surroundings and are gathered every morning from nearby forests, beaches, and fields. Organic wines from Ästad Vingård, produced just 100 meters from the restaurant, are an integral part of ÄNG’s extensive wine cellar.
The restaurant’s philosophy is rooted in working in harmony with nature and constantly discovering new ways to create innovative dining experiences. The limitations of seasonal ingredients serve as a source of creativity and inspiration. Filip focuses on bringing out the maximum flavor of simple, regional products, emphasizing their authenticity and uniqueness. ÄNG represents a fusion of modern gastronomy with deep respect for nature and local traditions.
