Chef Iván García has built a culinary identity deeply rooted in Venezuela. His journey began with an appreciation for local ingredients and producers and has since evolved to integrate artists from various disciplines into his work.
At just 21, Iván opened his first restaurant, El Bosque Bistró, in Mérida in 2015. In 2019, he successfully relocated the concept to Caracas, where it has grown into a unique culinary ecosystem. His approach reflects a deep respect for ingredients and territory, while his creativity remains free and authentic. Today, Iván is recognized as a key figure in Venezuelan cuisine, both locally and internationally.
Beyond his restaurant, Iván works to showcase Venezuela’s rich gastronomic heritage. His initiative, “Kilómetro Venezuela,” serves as a platform for promoting local products and producers. Through continuous exploration of the country, he incorporates native ingredients into his restaurant, creating a sustainable food network that supports the industry while preserving culinary traditions.
