Bio

Jeremy Chan is the Executive Chef and co-founder of Ikoyi, a London-based restaurant celebrated for its bold, flavour-driven cuisine. Born to a Canadian mother and a Chinese father, he grew up between Hong Kong, Canada and England, an upbringing that exposed him early to a wide range of culinary cultures and deeply shaped his approach to food. After graduating from Princeton University, Chan initially worked in Europe before deciding to pursue a career in the kitchen.

In 2017, he partnered with childhood friend Iré Hassan-Odukale to open Ikoyi, creating a dining experience centred on spices, intensity and originality rather than geographic boundaries. His cooking blends innovative techniques with ingredients and influences drawn from across cultures, resulting in a highly personal and contemporary style that challenges conventional fine dining norms.

Under Chan’s leadership, Ikoyi has received significant international acclaim and multiple prestigious accolades for its originality and impact on modern gastronomy. In 2023, he published his first book, Ikoyi: A Journey through Bold Heat with Recipes, offering insight into his creative philosophy and distinctive approach to flavour.
