Jimmy Lim is the founder and creative force behind JL Studio, established in 2017. There, he pioneered Modern Singaporean cuisine abroad, blending the flavours of his homeland with Taiwan’s rich agricultural produce. His cooking reinterprets Singaporean classics through refined technique and contemporary sensibility, positioning the restaurant as a bridge between cultures.

Lim’s culinary journey began at his father’s hawker stall in Singapore. After a knee injury shifted his ambitions from basketball to gastronomy, he trained at SHATEC, representing Singapore in international competitions and winning gold at the 2006 WACS World Young Chef Challenge.

He further honed his craft at leading international establishments including The French Laundry, Per Se and Geranium before opening JL Studio. The restaurant has since received exceptional global acclaim and prestigious industry accolades, earning the highest level of international recognition and establishing Lim as the first Singaporean chef to reach this distinction overseas.
