Though he initially studied Social Communication, his passion for cooking led him to train at La Casserole du Chef in Caracas and Ferrandi in Paris.
Martínez honed his craft in France, at Diverxo in Spain, and at Central in Peru under mentor Virgilio Martínez. These experiences shaped his culinary identity, culminating in the creation of Mérito, a restaurant that celebrates the richness of Latin American ingredients through innovative techniques, such as blending tubers and roots to highlight cultural connections across the continent.
Located in Barranco, Mérito’s adobe-walled space offers an immersive dining experience.
