Kwon Woo-joong is a South Korean chef recognised for his refined and contemporary interpretation of traditional Korean cuisine. Born and raised in Seoul, he was immersed in food culture from an early age, learning the foundations of Korean cooking at home. His culinary heritage is deeply rooted in family tradition, as his grandfather was the owner and chef of a renowned North Korean restaurant, an influence that shaped his respect for authenticity and flavour.

Kwon studied culinary science at Kyung Hee University, where he developed a strong technical and theoretical understanding of gastronomy. In 2014, he opened his own restaurant in Seoul, creating a dining experience centred on the thoughtful reinterpretation of classic Korean dishes. His cuisine highlights rare seasonal ingredients, precise techniques and elegant presentation, balancing tradition with a modern sensibility.

His work has earned significant national and international accolades, recognising his role in elevating Korean cuisine on the global stage. Beyond his restaurant, Kwon Woo-joong actively participates in international culinary events and masterclasses, sharing his knowledge and contributing to the growing appreciation of Korean gastronomy worldwide.
