Martin Klein has led the culinary direction at Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg since 2014 as Executive Chef. In this role, he oversees the internationally renowned guest chef concept at Restaurant Ikarus, coordinating collaborations with some of the world’s most celebrated chefs while guiding a highly skilled team. Originally from Alsace, Klein previously served as Head Chef at Restaurant Ikarus from 2003 to 2012, helping shape the restaurant’s unique concept during its formative years.

After two years as Executive Chef on a private luxury island in the South Pacific, he returned to Hangar-7 with full responsibility for its culinary vision. Earlier in his career, Klein trained and worked in leading restaurants across Germany, quickly rising through the ranks and earning prestigious industry recognition and awards along the way.

Known for a product-driven and honest culinary philosophy, Klein emphasizes freshness, regional ingredients, craftsmanship, and precision. His leadership, creativity, and ability to collaborate with world-class chefs have made him a key figure behind the continued international acclaim of Restaurant Ikarus and the Red Bull Hangar-7 dining experience.
