Bio

Maicol Izzo, born in 1993 in Castellammare di Stabia, is the chef leading Piazzetta Milù, the family restaurant founded by his parents Michele and Lucia Izzo. Raised in an environment deeply connected to hospitality, he developed a passion for cooking from an early age, embarking on an international journey alongside some of the most influential figures in contemporary gastronomy.

After gaining experience with Gennaro Esposito at La Torre del Saracino, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Dabiz Muñoz at StreetXO, Albert Adrià within the elBarri group, and Mauro Colagreco at Mirazur, Izzo expanded his culinary vision through a series of formative experiences, including a period at Noma with René Redzepi.

In 2019, he returned to Castellammare di Stabia to take over the kitchen of Piazzetta Milù alongside his brothers Valerio and Emanuele. Here, he has developed a personal cuisine that reflects the identity of Campania through technique, research, and a deep respect for ingredients. His journey has been recognised with several prestigious accolades, including the Young Chef Award in 2024, confirming his place among the most promising talents of the new generation of Italian cuisine.
