Born in Lima in 1986, she developed a passion for cooking from a young age, learning in her mother’s catering business. León trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Lima and honed her skills at top restaurants, including „Astrid y Gastón” and „El Celler de Can Roca” in Spain.
In 2009, she joined Virgilio Martínez at „Central,” a pivotal moment in her career. Their collaboration propelled „Central” to international acclaim, and León eventually became the restaurant’s head chef. In 2018, she opened her own restaurant, „Kjolle,” which highlights Peru’s diverse ingredients.
Beyond her culinary ventures, León is deeply committed to sustainability and preserving Peru’s biodiversity. Together with Virgilio, she launched Mater Iniciativa, a project that explores the country’s rich ecological heritage. León’s work celebrates the diversity of Peruvian ingredients, blending creativity with tradition, making her a prominent figure in Latin America’s culinary scene.
