Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn, widely known as Chef Ton, is a leading figure in contemporary Thai cuisine and the executive chef and owner of several acclaimed restaurants in Bangkok, including Le Du, Baan, Nusara and Mayrai. Born in Thailand, his passion for cooking was shaped by the flavours of his mother’s and grandmother’s home cooking.

After earning a degree in Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Chef Ton pursued his culinary ambitions at the Culinary Institute of America, later completing an MBA in Hospitality at Johnson & Wales University. His professional journey included formative experiences in highly regarded kitchens in New York, refining both his technical skills and creative outlook.

Chef Ton is also a certified sommelier and is recognised for elevating Thai cuisine by combining traditional flavours with modern techniques. His work has earned numerous prestigious accolades, and his restaurants are celebrated for their innovation and depth. As a judge on popular television programmes such as Top Chef Thailand, he is widely respected as an influential voice in Thailand’s culinary scene.
