Bio

Chef Vusi Ndlovu is a dynamic South African chef with an international career that began in 2010. He trained under some of his country’s most influential culinary figures, including David Higgs, Luke Dale Roberts and Peter Tempelhof, developing a strong technical foundation rooted in contemporary cuisine. His passion for open-flame cooking was ignited during his time at In de Wulf in Belgium, an experience that profoundly shaped his culinary identity. Vusi’s work

celebrates African heritage through a modern lens, focusing on underutilised indigenous ingredients, progressive techniques and recipes passed down through generations. His approach has earned significant international recognition, including a top-seven placement in a major global young chef competition and being named the leading young chef in Africa and the

Middle East in 2018. EDGE Group is the expression of this vision—a holistic celebration of Africa cooked over fire. Founded by Vusi Ndlovu together with Absie Pantshwa, EDGE represents a bold, contemporary platform that honours tradition while pushing African cuisine forward with confidence and originality.
