Bio

Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa is the visionary behind „NARISAWA” in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, where he has created an independent culinary genre known as „Innovative Satoyama Cuisine.” Drawing inspiration from the traditions of Satoyama—a Japanese concept of harmony between humans and nature—he reinterprets the wisdom of ancestors to craft gastronomy that benefits both body and spirit while promoting environmental sustainability.

Through his cooking, Narisawa conveys profound respect for nature and advocates for a safe and sustainable environment. His philosophy, „Evolve with the Forest,” highlights the interconnectedness of humans and the Japanese landscape. From 2015 to 2018, Narisawa traveled extensively across Japan, exploring its culinary heritage and drawing inspiration for his work. This journey culminated in the publication of his first book, Satoyama, in 2024.

Beyond his culinary creations, Chef Narisawa serves as a judge for the Basque Culinary World Prize, celebrating gastronomy’s potential to positively impact health, education, the environment, and social development. In 2023, he expanded his vision globally with the opening of NARISAWA Shanghai, and in 2024, a new restaurant is set to open in Singapore. Chef Narisawa remains a guardian of Japanese culinary traditions and a trailblazer for the next generation.
