Eyal Shani

HaSalon

Eyal Shani was born in Jerusalem in 1959. His culinary passion was first instilled in him by his grandfather, an agronomist and a dedicated vegan, who exposed him to local markets, fields, and vineyards from a young age.

He is considered to be one of the leading figures in the Israeli culinary scene, starring in the TV series “Food for Thought” and appearing on the panel of judges during the past six seasons of Israeli “Master Chef.”

Culinary language based on Mediterranean products

Before Shani garnered international acclaim, his first foray into F&B was his restaurant “Oceanus” in his hometown of Jerusalem. There, he developed a unique culinary language based on Mediterranean products: olive oil, fish, tahini, fresh seasonal vegetables and the tomato – essentials in his repertoire that also laid the foundation and inspired his journey to creating Miznon, an international casual restaurant chain offering a new take on Israeli street food.

‘Miznon magic’ as redefining Israeli street food

Today, Shani is distinguished by his signature culinary style that embraces farm-to-table practices, supporting local farmers and a minimalistic approach to seasoning. At Miznon, he has conjured a vibrant and high-energy restaurant style based on ‘Miznon magic’, an enlightened approach that promises an experience like no other.

“The living room”

Since opening his fine dining restaurant, HaSalon, in Tel Aviv. Shani is now the inspiration and the leading chef of 23 highly successful restaurants worldwide
HaSalon- “the living room” has his own straightforward style, one that has shaped contemporary Israeli cuisine. Here, you’ll find the best vegetables and raw materials coming together in a slick, but hip manner.
